Dana Delany officially returning for 'Desperate Housewives' series finale

dana-delany-desperate-housewives-finale.jpg Dana Delany has said she'd be happy to make one more appearance on "Desperate Housewives." The powers that be at the show seemed open to it. And finally, the pieces are in place for it to happen.

Delany will guest-star in the series finale of "Housewives" on May 13, reprising her role of one-time Wisteria Lane resident Katherine Mayfair, TVLine reports. Delany told Zap2it last summer that she'd "love to" revisit the show, and now that her current ABC series, "Body of Proof," has wrapped its season, she was able to return.

("Body of Proof," incidentally, finishes its season at 10 p.m. ET Tuesday.)

Whether Katherine returns as "a happy lesbian," as Delany told us she hoped, remains to be seen. TVLine notes that Julie Benz -- last seen on "Housewives" leaving for Europe with Katherine -- isn't booked for the series finale.

Are you glad Delany's final "Housewives" turn is finally booked? What do you hope to see from Katherine in the finale?
