dwts-renewed-2012-13-abc.jpgIn one of the less surprising series-pickup announcements of the past week, ABC has renewed its flagship unscripted series "Dancing With the Stars" and "The Bachelor" for next season.

"Shark Tank" will also be back in 2012-13, and for the first time it's getting a 22-episode season. The show has grown in the ratings this season and made ABC a little more competitive on Friday nights.

"DWTS" has taken a ratings tumble this spring, but both weekly shows are still in the Top 10 in viewers and post solid numbers among in the adults 18-49 demographic (3.5 on Mondays and 3.1 on Tuesdays for the season). "The Bachelor" was off some too, but its averages (8.85 million viewers and a 2.9 in 18-49) make it pretty much a no-brainer.

"Shark Tank," meanwhile, has had its best season this year, averaging 6 million viewers and a 1.8 rating in the demo. It regularly leads its Friday timeslot in adults 18-49; last week's episode scored its second-biggest audience ever.

The three series join seven of ABC's scripted shows as confirmed pickups for next season.
