dancing-with-the-stars-cher-guest-judge-gi.jpgMusic legend Cher will guest-judge "Dancing with the Stars" in week 8, it was announced on Monday (Oct. 28) night. The singer will take the place of Len Goodman for the week and will also perform two of her hit songs during the broadcast.

Because Goodman is also a judge this season on the British version of "Dancing with the Stars," "Strictly Come Dancing," the show has needed to bring in a few guest judges whenever Len is away. Following in the footsteps of former pro dancer Julianne Hough, Cher will get the job for one week.

This is Cher though, so there's no way that "DWTS" would let her visit without securing a musical performance as well. At the beginning of the show, Cher will perform her hit, "Believe." The singer will close out the night -- performing just prior to the week's eliminations -- with her newest hit, "Closer to the Truth."

Seven couples will remain to dance for Cher, each needing to perform twice over the course of the evening. In the first part of the program, the couples will take on a style not yet danced. While the highest-scoring couple in this round will receive immunity from elimination, the remaining six will need to dance again for additional scores.

"Dancing with the Stars" airs Mondays at 8 p.m. on ABC.
