'Dancing With the Stars' alum Denise Richards thinks latest trophy 'could go to anyone'
The actress intended to be one herself three years ago when she began the ABC contest's eighth round, partnered with Maksim Chmerkovskiy. She ended up leaving rather quickly, since the couple was the second eliminated from that season. As Rob Kardashian, Ricki Lake and J.R. Martinez await word on which of them will win the mirrorball trophy tonight (Tuesday, Nov. 22), Richards feels every bit as much in the dark.
"I don't know ... it's a tough call," she tells Zap2it, adding she's watched the current "Dancing" season "off and on. I did watch last night, and it could go to anyone. It could be a surprise where people are really voting for Ricki because she didn't get perfect 10s (as Kardashian and Martinez did).
" Karina [ Smirnoff] and J.R. are so great, though," Richards notes. "I couldn't stop looking at her. Her body is just so incredible." Lake's partner Derek Hough has won every "Dancing" contest in which he's reached the finals, and Richards says of Lake's admission of pressure over that, "I can only imagine."
Richards' own "Dancing" performances will be seen again: Game Show Network has just secured repeat rights to the show from the fourth season onward, with those replays set to begin in January. Before that, Richards will present an adoption story -- having adopted a child herself this year -- on CBS' 13th annual "A Home for the Holidays" special Wednesday, Dec. 21.
"Two and a Half Men" is another series Richards says she's sampled again lately after having appeared on it. She reports she "really liked" Ashton Kutcher in the September season premiere of the CBS sitcom that used to star her ex-husband, Charlie Sheen. "He did a great job, and I thought it was very funny."
