'Dancing with the Stars' elimination: Metta World Peace and Peta Murgatroyd out in week 1

metta-peeta-dwts.jpgIt seems as if "Dancing with the Stars" began only yesterday and already we're at the first elimination. Oh wait, it did since yesterday was Monday (Sept. 19) and a mere 24 hours later (aka now), a B-list celebrity just found out his immediate future will not involve ballroom dance.

In between the voting, we had a bit of entertainment from Harry Connick Jr. and current it-band LMFAO who played their ubiquitous song, "Party Rock Anthem." Watching them knock it out live for the umpteenth time, we kind of wondered how sick the guys are of their creation. Or is that just us?

Still, we'd gladly listen to the song on an infinite loop if only we never had to see a topless Bruno "WTF" Tonioli again. (Note: The "WTF" was added by host Tom Bergeron.)

But enough about Tonioli.

The three couples in jeopardy this week: Rob Kardashian and Cheryl Burke, Metta World Peace (aka Ron Artest) and Peta Murgatroyd and Nancy Grace and Tristan MacManus.

The first couple to be cut, though, was Metta and Peta.

And, yes, this means that we'll get to see at least one more week of this
