In the first part of the "Dancing with the Stars" Season 17 finale, Bill Engvall and Emma Slater were eliminated from the competition. Considering how far they were behind dancers like Amber Riley, Jack Osbourne and Corbin Bleu, this shouldn't have been a surprise.

But Bill has outlasted a lot of better dancers. Getting into the finale wouldn't have been the biggest shock.

It was probably the right choice for the popular couple of Bill and Emma to go home at this point. However entertaining Bill is -- and he is ridiculously fun to watch -- the other dancers are just better at this level. The freestyle dances showed that clearly. While every other couple got across-the-board 10s for their final performances of the night, Bill and Emma got two 8s and a 9 (from Len, of all people) for their "Raiders of the Lost Ark"-inspired dance.

Overall, the couple had 51 points for their three dances of the night. Not bad for a couple that's stayed in the competition mostly due to voter popularity!

The three remaining couples -- Amber and Derek, Corbin and Karina, and Jack and Cheryl -- will return for a final performance and the awarding of the Mirror Ball trophy on Tuesday (Nov. 26).
