'Dancing with the Stars': Kirstie Alley, 'borderline crazy' American Woman

dwts-kirstie-rehearse.jpgIt was wonderful and horrible and probably killed some brain cells, but we loved Kirstie Alley's nutty fox trot on Monday's (April 18) "Dancing with the Stars."

The ingredients: A royal blue "I Dream of Genie" get-up, a shirtless Russian with an American Flag painted on his flank, The Guess Who's "American Woman" and a visit from fellow Scientologist -- and dance doctor (who knew?) -- John Travolta.

As per usual, Alley looked slightly tranquilized while dancing, though this week there were no overt mishaps (last week Alley lost a shoe, the week before Maks lost his balance and tumbled to the floor). The pair sought a little pre-show help from Travolta, a long-time friend of Alley's. His advice? "Wear high tops." She didn't, but the segment was fun.

Travolta's wife, Kelly Preston, was in the audience to watch the fruits of her husband's labor. And his ministrations paid off, even if just a little.

"Now that was a different take on a fox trot," said judge Carrie Ann Inaba. "Bold, ambitious, a little borderline crazy. Your best dance ever."

And the pair snagged their highest score since the season opener: another 23. Not near the top of the leader board yet, but moving in the right direction.

What did you think of Kirstie's fox trot? Hot or not?
