'Dancing With the Stars': Mark Ballas on Katherine Jenkins' injury
Backstage at the show, the cameras were left rolling and the press got to see a tearful Katherine being treated by doctors and given ice to shrink the swelling. She didn't come out to do the press line, but we spoke to Ballas about her condition.
He had nothing but praise for his partner, saying he hoped people would still vote for them. "Hopefully they liked what we did, because it was feeling great up until there. Because in my mind, I was like, 'yeah, yeah.' And in dress rehearsal today, we made zero mistakes in that dance every time we ran it. And then this morning I said, 'This will be the one for you. It's going to be your break out dance.' And then, yeah."
We asked if it was more than a twinge. "I think she's okay because she can walk. Usually when you do something to you bones or -- like, I've had muscle spasms and dislocations and ribs, and once you do something bad, that's it. You can't get up. But she got up pretty quick. She's out there dusting it off. She's not being a baby. She's tough."
He's not sure about what's coming. He tells us, "She's one of the best dancers left on the show. She should be making a stab at the final. She should be taking a shot at the mirror ball. But I don't know how it's going to go now."
The "Dancing With the Stars" semi-finals results show airs Tuesday, May 15 on ABC.
