People reports that the pro dancer "fell to the floor" while rehearsing their finale freestyle routine on Sunday (May 18) afternoon.

"Mark was seriously injured during camera blocking," a "DWTS" spokesperson says. "His shoulder popped out during a lift and he was taken by ambulance to the hospital where he was treated and released. It's unclear whether or not he'll be able to perform on Monday's show."

While Ballas has been encouraged to sit out on Monday's (May 19) finale so as not to aggravate his injury more, he is insisting that he wants to perform. According to the show's spokesperson, another pro will learn his routines and on standby if Ballas ends up sitting out Monday's show.

The two-night "DWTS" Season 18 finale airs Monday (May 19) at 8 p.m. ET/PT and Tuesday (May 20) at 9 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
