'Dancing With the Stars': Nicole Scherzinger declared Season 10's champion

nicole-scherzinger-season-finale.jpgPerhaps it wasn't a surprising end to the "Dancing With the Stars" season ( we called it from the very beginning), but it certainly ended as it should have.

The consistently spot-on Nicole Scherzinger took home the Mirrorball trophy Tuesday (May 25) night after scoring a perfect 30 for her Argentine tango in the judges ranking dance and straight tens for her jive.

As expected, Evan Lysacek was her final competition ( Erin Andrews was eliminated during the first hour of the season finale). However, in the end, Lysacek simply wasn't a match for Scherzinger, who has essentially been deemed by all the judges at one time or another as "the best this competition has ever seen."

After Scherzinger's jive, we pretty much could have called the competition right then and there when Len Goodman said, "Nicole, let me tell you, there were twelve days of Christmas, there were seven dwarfs, four Beatles. There can only be one winner of 'Dancing With the Stars.' It should be you."

And it was.
