Olympic gold medalists-turned- "Dancing with the Stars" Season 18 contestants Meryl Davis and Charlie White are definitely favorites to win as they go into the competition. But that doesn't mean the ice dancers are confident about taking home the mirror ball trophy.

Rather, as they shared on the Monday (March 17) airing of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," the two have learned that ice dancing and ballroom dancing are two very different things.

So, what is so different for White and Davis?

"We didn't realize quite how different until we started doing the Latin movement on the floor," Davis shares with Ellen DeGeneres. "We could tell by the look on our partners' faces how different it really was."

"I feel like they have really high expectations for us, and we took a step and they're like, 'Oh ... I see,'" White adds.

Even with the differences in technique, however, both ice dancers have a good shot at taking the competition -- their biggest rivals might even be each other. "I think we're both scared of each other, if you will, but in a very encouraging way," says White.

"Dancing with the Stars" airs at 8 p.m. Mondays on ABC, starting March 17.
