'Dancing With the Stars': Oprah makes sure OWN personality Fergie isn't on board

sarah-ferguson-oprah.jpgSoon after the Jan. 1 launch of the Oprah Winfrey Network, Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson (the original Fergie) will introduce her six-part reality miniseries, "Finding Sarah."

But before Oprah Winfrey formally invited her friend to join the OWN family, she had to make one thing clear.

"I remember the last thing I said to her when I left that interview," Winfrey tells Parade Magazine. "Don't let me see you on 'Dancing with the Stars.'"

Clearly, she's not the biggest fan. Or she just has other ideas of how Ferguson should rehabilitate her long-damaged public image.

"She started e-mailing me and at one point asked what did I think of her doing a celebrity chef show," says Winfrey. "And I said, 'That's not going to help you. How are you going to rehabilitate yourself on a celebrity chef show? You should be working on yourself.'"

The results of her working on herself are expected to premiere sometime in Spring 2011. And, comparatively, that's just a drop in the OWN bucket. Winfrey is keeping her eyes peeled for other personalities to fill the almost limitless hours of programming her new network affords.

"The other day I was in a restaurant, [and there was] the most handsome waiter," Winfrey tells Parade. "I was like, 'Well, what are you interested in doing? You have a very good TV face.'"
