'Dancing with the Stars': Renee Zellweger and other Oscar winners for Season 18?
That's the hope, according to a report from Radar Online. Sources at the "DWTS" production indicate that Zellweger might be "offered mega bucks to do 'DWTS' and compete for the chance of putting the Mirror Ball trophy next to her Oscar." If this is indeed the case, the plan is to have more than one Academy Award winner take the stage -- an "all Oscar-winners series" would be the result.
If it actually happened, there's a good chance that an actress like Zellweger would be a hit. Although she won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in 2004 for "Cold Mountain," Renee Zellweger had previously been nominated for her singing and dancing role in "Chicago."

The key to bringing in the big stars may be money. "They keep raising the amount of money they are willing to give her in the hopes that she'll say yes," the source explained. "The theory is that if they can get her to sign on, then it would attract some other really prominent Oscar-winning stars -- who wouldn't normally do reality TV -- to fall in step."
Whether or not Zellweger joins the show, other Academy Award winners have already done "Dancing with the Stars." Tatum O'Neal (Season 2), Marlee Matlin (Season 6) and Cloris Leachman (Season 7) all have danced, although none have inspired a flood of other Oscar winners to follow.
