dancing-with-the-stars-week-3-eliminations-highlights-sean-lowe-demi-lovato-abc.jpgIn a night destined to finally elimination someone from "Dancing with the Stars" Season 16, there were plenty of highlights in the week 3 results show. From the crowning of Zendaya and Jacoby Jones (as Prom Queen and King) to Sean Lowe's "YMCA" encore to the musical performances of Demi Lovato and Huey Lewis and the News, it was an interesting night.

All hail the king and queen
Going along with the "DWTS" week 3 theme of prom night, viewers were asked to vote for their Prom King and Queen picks via Twitter. The winning male and female celebrity received 2 points added to their judges scores.

Queen Zendaya and King Jacoby Jones got an extra bonus -- both stars were declared safe before listening to Huey Lewis and the News perform "The Heart of Rock and Roll."

Sean Lowe (with Bruno Tonioli) encores his "YMCA" dance
The judges were supposed to choose the encore dance, but Len and Carrie Ann left the decision to Bruno. So it was no shock when the encore was danced by "Bachelor" Sean Lowe and Peta Murgatroyd -- along with a half-naked Bruno as backup.

The result was... interesting. Oh well -- it made Bruno happy at least!

Dancing backwards
When commenting on the original "Evil Dead" movie, director Sam Raimi once said that Bruce Campbell was the only man he'd ever seen who could act backwards -- a necessary skill in a movie where many special effects were created by running the film backwards.

Could Campbell dance backwards too? If not, then the actor may have been upstaged by tonight's Macy's Stars of Dance performance. Taped before the show, about half of the dance was normal (although excellent) dancing. The other half, however, showed the tape running backwards. Things fell up and everything was funky. The cool part was how it still looked like excellent dancing.

Demi Lovato
Apparently, FOX isn't trying quite so hard to keep its music-show stars away from "Dancing with the Stars" anymore. First, former "American Idol" contestant Kellie Pickler gets to dance with Derek Hough all season. And now, "The X Factor" judge Demi Lovato performs on a results show.

She even performed big -- unlike most musical acts on "Dancing with the Stars," Lovato performed "Heart Attack" live in the middle of the broadcast.
