Danica Patrick: 3 crashes at Daytona 500
"I would have loved to have run up there. I would have loved to have got the experience when you actually were racing for positions as opposed to just feeling it out," Patrick tells CBS. "But I truly believe everything happens for a reason." She was in the wrong place at the wrong time and ended up in the grass.
Patrick won the pole position in Saturday's race, the first woman to nab it since Shawna Robinson in 1994. She wrecked again after she was bumped by Cole Whitt. She made it three for three when she crashed again on Monday.
"I just wish the beginning of the race could have been a nice single-file line like it was when I got back out there, but it wasn't," Patrick said. "And honestly, that's my lesson to learn, maybe. Write off that first little bit if you're not up front." Lets hope she can break the streak when she does a full season for Nationwide Series for JR Motorsports.
