Danica Patrick is doing just fine after a major wreck totaled her race car just short of the finish line of a Daytona 500 qualifier race, according to the AP.
"I just got hit," Patrick tells the AP. "Just running on the bottom lane and I'm betting it was the chain reaction from the outside, it looked like. Guys get so close on the side drafting that they're touching you sometimes. I'm sure that at times, maybe in that situation it was a 'hitting' side draft. It was just probably a chain reaction."
Patrick finished 16th anyway, and she tells ESPN that she thinks her experience was a success (despite the totaled car).
"I feel good," she says. "I really feel good. I feel comfortable. I feel confident. I feel like if things fall our way I can take the experience from today into Sunday."
Patrick will race in NASCAR's Daytona 500 on Sunday, Feb. 26. The driver recently committed to racing for NASCAR full time.
