Now the young actor is taking on "The Cripple of Inishmaan" at London's Noel Coward Theatre -- and the reviews for his performance are excellent.

Radcliffe plays Billy, a young Irish orphan who sees a chance to escape his humdrum life when an American film crew arrives to shoot a film.

The AP reports that reviews all over London outlets are positively glowing about Radcliffe's turn, praising his "gift for playing social outsiders" and his "melancholy intensity and resolve."

Radcliffe also told the AP in a March interview that he wants to be taken seriously as an actor.

"I didn't just want to take an easy way out of this. I wanted to really try and take risks and make a career for myself," says the 23-year-old star.

"The Cripple of Inishmaan" runs through the end of August in the West End.
