It's a year for reunions at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards. Girl group Danity Kane is hopping on the trend and will stage a reunion performance at the event. They join -- probably -- boy band 'N Sync in the reunion fever.

Formed by Sean "Diddy" Combs in 2005 as part of MTV's "Making the Band" Season 3, Danity Kane followed up with two hit albums and three Billboard Top 10 hits: "Show Stopper," "Ride for You" and "Damaged." The group was originally made up of five women, Aubrey O'Day, Shannon Bex, Dawn Richard, Aundrea Fimbres and Wanita "D. Woods" Woodgett. O'Day and Woodgett were out of the group by 2008, and the remaining members disbanded in 2009.

Now they're back. Four members of Danity Kane -- O'Day, Bex, Richard and Fimbres -- announced via Instagram that the group had reformed:

"DANITY KANE is officially BACK! @danitykane #vmas2013 #Rage"

A formal announcement of the reunion is expected during the VMAs pre-show on Sunday (Aug. 25) evening. No word on whether or not the group would perform came along with this announcement.
