Dave Chappelle denies he's working on a new show

dave-chappelle-gi-320.jpg Dave Chappelle won't be back on television -- or a television-like media experience -- anytime in the immediate future.

Chappelle's rep tells EW that a report he was developing a new series for a streaming content provider is "absolutely untrue." That initial story comes from The Daily, which quotes a "plugged-in insider" as saying "Dave Chappelle's going back to TV. It's not for a network. It's for Netflix or Crackle or some other subscription service."

Chappelle has made references to a "comeback" in his stand-up comedy recently, but according to EW he hasn't been working on any sort of TV show since his sudden departure from "Chappelle's Show" in 2005. We'd like to see him back -- at least in a stand-up special -- but fortunately "Chappelle's Show" aired in the Internet age and there's video everywhere if we need a fix.

Here's one of our favorite sketches (somewhat NSFW, but not overly), "Wu Tang Financial."
