David Hasselhoff reportedly replacing Simon Cowell on 'Britain's Got Talent'

david-hasselhoff-simon-cowell.jpgWe know that Germans love David Hasselhoff, but do the Brits? Apparently Simon Cowell thinks so, as he has tapped the Hoff to replace him as a judge on "Britain's Got Talent," reports Rob Shuter at PopEater.

An insider tells PopEater, "David is super excited about the move ... plus, returning to the judges table is great for David because it will finally put to rest those ugly rumors that Simon fired him from 'America's Got Talent' and replaced him with Howie Mandel."

The Hoff judged the American version of the talent show for its first four seasons. He left before Season 5 and was replaced at the table by Howie Mandel, but apparently there wasn't any animosity in the change (or at least Cowell had nothing to do with it) because the Hoff is now taking up the mantle in England. Cowell is leaving the "BGT" judges table in order to helm the American version of "The X Factor," which starts in fall 2011.

What do you think? Can the Hoff replace Simon? Or does it not matter because we can't watch "Britain's Got Talent" over here anyway?
