'Days of Our Lives' keeps going; Nancy O'Dell has New Year's Eve plans

NBC celebrated the 45th anniversary of its soap opera "Days of Our Lives" Monday (Nov. 8) by renewing the show for two more years. It will continue through at least the 2012-13 season. [ NBC]

Former "Access Hollywood" host Nancy O'Dell has been tapped ring in 2011 on FOX's "New Year's Eve Live." She'll be counting down the year from the Mandalay Bay resort in Las Vegas; the special will also include live music and coverage of the ball drop in New York's Times Square. [ FOX]

Speaking of FOX: The network has ordered a game show called "Million Dollar Money Drop," in which contestants are given a million bucks at the start of the game, then have to answer questions correctly in order to keep it. It premieres Dec. 20 with comedian Kevin Pollak as host. [ FOX]

Goran Visjnic will guest on the "Leverage" season finale in December. The former "ER" star will play bad guy Damian Moreau, who Nate ( Timothy Hutton) and the Leverage team have been seeking much of the season. [ TV Guide]

ESPN has parted ways with its "Sunday Night Baseball" announcing team of Jon Miller and Joe Morgan after 21 years. Miller, who also calls games for the San Francisco Giants, may remain with ESPN's radio arm, while Morgan's contract wasn't renewed. Dan Shulman and Orel Hershiser are their likely replacements. Tim Allen could be returning to TV via a pilot project set up at ABC. "Man Up," from "30 Rock" writer-producer Jack Burditt, would star Allen as "a guy fighting for his manhood in a world of women." [ Deadline]
