Daytona 500: Danica Patrick wins Nationwide pole position
"I was thinking about how disappointing [Thursday] was and how happy you can be 24 hours later," Patrick said after her Friday win.
"I don't think about it from a girl perspective," she continued. "I've been taught from a young age to want to be the best driver, not the best girl."
"I get much more nervous because I know my car is fast," she said. "And when you sit on the pole, you're the fastest car. So if you don't win the race, then I just wasted the fasted car. So yes, it adds a lot of pressure and now I feel nervous."
Patrick recently made the full-time switch to NASCAR racing and, it seems, she's right at home.
