'Deadliest Catch' Season 8 premiere: A slashed crab quota is hurting the crews
"Deadliest Catch" is back on Discovery Tuesday night (April 10) and Season 8 kicks off with a bang. "The Gamble" is the premiere episode and features the captain being forced to come to grips with a drastically slashed crab quota. The episode description says, "With the fleet set to fight over half the catch, each skipper is forced to decide: roll the dice on the depleted Red grounds or risk it all to hunt for the elusive Blue crab."
"Deckhands" is the second new episode, airing directly after "The Gamble" Tuesday night, which takes an in depth look at what it takes to be a deckhand on a crab fishing boat.
In these preview videos below, the captains say goodbye to their families as they prepare to head out for the season of crab fishing on the Bering Sea and the crew of the Ramblin' Rose gets pounded by icy waves as they drop pots in the middle of a storm.
"Deadliest Catch" airs Tuesday nights at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Discovery.
