Demi Lovato returning to judge 'The X Factor' in Season 3
Demi Lovato is returning to "The X Factor" in Season 3. FOX has confirmed that the Season 2 judge and mentor will reprise her role when the show returns in fall 2013.
"I am so excited to return as a judge and mentor on 'The X Factor,'" Lovato says in a statement. "Last season was an unbelievable experience and I really enjoyed developing personal relationships with the contestants and the panel. I look forward to taking my previous experience and applying it to make this season even better!"
Though Lovato and Simon Cowell would bump heads sometimes in Season 2, he is thrilled that she is returning to the show. "I couldn't be happier that Demi wants to come back this year," he says in a press release. "She's a superstar in her own right and was a fantastic mentor last year. Even though she can be really, really annoying -- I truly enjoyed working with her and so did the artists. I'm especially pleased she's back, even during her world tour!"
Lovato recently released "Heart Attack," the first single off her upcoming fourth album. Open auditions for Season 3 of "The X Factor" next take place on April 14 in New Orleans, April 25 in Long Island, NY and May 14 in Denver, Colo.
Though Lovato will be returning, her fellow Season 2 judge Britney Spears won't be. Spears confirmed in January that she won't be returning to "The X Factor" so she can "get back in the studio."
