As if it wasn't strange enough that Dennis Rodman was a welcomed guest on a recent trip to North Korea, the story now has a new twist. Rodman says the FBI has been in contact with him, looking for insight into what's going on in the isolationist nation.
Speaking to the Miami Herald, Rodman says, "I have been contacted by the FBI and I met with them. They wanted to know what went on and who's really in charge in North Korea." It doesn't end there, as he hopes to return to the country soon. "I have been invited back to North Korea in August and I want to go."
Rodman says he isn't a "total idiot" when it comes to the country and its views about the United States. "I know what Kim Jong-un is threatening to do regarding his military muscle," he says, "I hope it doesn't happen because America will take whatever actions to protect America and our allies." Rodman believes that you need to talk to those who want to do you harm, explaining, "I've been talking to folks for years who don't get what I'm about but that's cool, 'cause once they walk away they like me. I might be able to keep folks' heads cool."
Rodman was initially sent to North Korea as part of a new HBO news program called "Vice," which premiered April 5.
