Dennis Rodman: NBA legend is 'broke' and 'extremely sick'
The publication reports that the NBA Hall of Famer and multi-time champ is woefully behind in his child and spousal support payments. The matter will be discussed as Rodman faces a court hearing on Tuesday (March 27). He could receive up to 20 days in jail for inability to make these payments.
The enigmatic Rodman owes more than $800,000 in child support for two children he has with his third wife Michelle. Rodman owes greater than $50,000 in spousal support.
In court documents, his attorney states, "Respondent Dennis Rodman is broke and cannot afford any additional fees." The papers also add that Rodman can barely afford his living expenses. His attorneys are working pro bono.
Rodman once had the world at his feet. He had best-selling books, movies and TV shows...and this doesn't even include his athletic exploits in the NBA and pro wrestling. But Rodman has suffered from high-profile problems with alcohol as featured during his stint "Celebrity Rehab." He's also had numerous problems with the law over the years including arrests for DUI and spousal battery.
