Dennis Rodman sentenced in child support case; another hearing scheduled
Orange County Superior Court Commissioner Barry Michaelson said to Rodman at the hearing, "My suggestion is to use your talents as a motivator, as a fine, fine athlete and as a fine person to assist others in need."
There are additional charges Rodman will still face, as his ex-wife Michelle Rodman claims he owns back child support in the sum of over $800,000 for the couple's two children, DJ, 11, and Trinity, 10. Rodman also has a 20-year-old daughter, Alexis, from his first marriage. The entire family is pictured above in 2006 (from left: Alexis, DJ, Michelle, Trinity and Dennis).
Rodman's lawyer Linnea Willis says the $800,000 total is from a time when Rodman was expected to pay $50,000 a month in child support. The amount has since been reduced to $4500 a month, which Rodman is current on.
The outstanding child support will be addressed at another hearing, scheduled for June 22.
