'Devious Maids' heading to Lifetime in 2013Add to Favorites | Desperate Housewives
Lifetime has ordered 13 episodes of the new series that will air in 2013, joining the network's original drama lineup alongside "Army Wives," "Drop Dead Diva" and "The Client List." It's based on the Mexican telenovela "Ellas son la Alegría del Hogar."
Susan Lucci headlines the ensemble cast, which also includes Ana Ortiz ("Ugly Betty"), Judy Reyes ("The Pregnancy Project"), Dania Ramirez ("Heroes"), Roselyn Sanchez ("Without a Trace"), Edy Ganem ("Livin' Loud"), Grant Show ("Swing Town"), Drew Van Acker ("Pretty Little Liars") and more.
Mariana Klaveno also stars. She was originally cast as Lily Munster in NBC's "The Munsters" reboot, "Mockingbird Lane," but couldn't take the role because ABC wouldn't let her out of her contract for "Devious Maids." Portia de Rossi replaced her.
Rob Sharenow, Lifetime Networks Programming EVP, and Nancy Dubuc, Lifetime Networks President and GM, say in a statement, "We are thrilled to be getting into business with one of entertainment's true visionaries. This show and Marc Cherry's unique storytelling voice perfectly articulate Lifetime's strategy of attracting top-tier creatives with their most original and exciting projects."
