'Dexter' brings on 'The Good Guys' Colin Hanks and a new teaser for Season 6

Season 6 of "Dexter" is reportedly gearing up to shoot at the end of May and so it must be firming up its casting decisions in the coming weeks, including this interesting casting.

A Showtime rep confirms to Zap2it that Colin Hanks will be joining as a recurring character next season with a significant story arc as first reported by TVLine.

While his storyline is being kept under wraps, the site suggests by process of elimination that Hanks will be playing the following role:

Louis: A buddy of Masuka's (C.S. Lee) who joins MMP as a new lab intern. Role calls for a Caucasian actor in his 30s who is "attractive in his own way."

Hanks has starred in the lone season of FOX's "The Good Guys," guest-starred as a priest on AMC's "Mad Men." But, of course, he'll always have a place in our heart as Alex from The WB/UPN's "Roswell." And, we all know his movie star father, Tom Hanks.

Also, the network just released the teaser promo below. We'll call it "Don't get in Dexter's way":
