dexter-finale_712.jpgShowtime is breaking up its two biggest shows, "Dexter" and "Homeland," and using them both to launch new series later this year.

Season 8 of "Dexter" will premiere at 9 p.m. ET Sunday, June 30, moving away from its long-standing fall home. It will lead into the channel's new drama "Ray Donovan," starring Liev Schreiber as a Los Angeles fixer.

(Incidentally, Showtime head David Nevins says he's not ready to announce whether Season 8 will be "Dexter's" last, though he adds "there's a clear endgame in place.")

"Homeland," meanwhile, will move up to 9 p.m. on Sundays starting Sept. 29. It will be followed by another new show, "Masters of Sex," about sex researchers Masters and Johnson ( Michael Sheen and Lizzy Caplan).

Other Showtime premiere dates for 2013:

"Shameless," "House of Lies" and "Californication": Jan. 13

"Inside Comedy": Feb. 11

"Nurse Jackie" and "The Borgias": April 14

"The Big C: Hereafter": April 29
