'Dexter' scores best premiere ratings; 'Walking Dead' viral opening sequence
"Dexter" came back for its fifth season with bloody good numbers -- over 2.3 million viewers -- making it Showtime's best season premiere in 15 years. The network isn't just content with that. It's also launched an iPhone/iPod app that will preview upcoming episodes and include behind-the-scenes videos, interviews, webisodes and trivia games. [ Showtime]
We're not the only ones excited about AMC's "The Walking Dead" (Oct.31!). Uber fan Daniel Kanemoto ripped up his own graphic novels so he could create the ultimate opening sequence, which is so cool, "Lost" creator Damon Lindelof tweeted it out. Watch the video at the end of this post. [ Vimeo]
No S#*!? Ashton Kutcher, Twitter king, will produce a new CBS comedy based on the Twitter Feed "Don't Tell Steve," about a guy who tweets out his drunken roommates hijinks. [ THR Live Feed]
We guess Max Weinberg won't be "Missing You," Conan O'Brien. The band leader won't be going to the late night host's TBS show "Conan" when it debuts on Nov. 8 [ USA Today]
Let's try this again. Steve Burke, a Comcast exec, will be stepping into Jeff Zucker's shoes as NBC Uni studio chief. We wonder what wonderful reality show legacy he'll leave us. [ Variety]
As promised, the freakishly good fan-created "Walking Dead" opener.
