'Dexter' Season 6 adds Mos Def as religious Brother Sam

mos-def-getty.jpg "Dexter" has started announcing its Season 6 additions as it gears up to begin shooting. First, Colin Hanks signed on in a multi-episode arc, reportedly as a buddy of lab rat Masuka. Now actor and hip-hop artist Mos (formerly known as Mos Def) has been announced as well.

Mos will play Brother Sam, a hardened ex-con who claims to have found religion, yet seems to continually find himself surrounded by violence. Mos has certainly garnered his share of acclaim for his forays into acting. He received 2004 Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for his work in TV movie "Something the Lord Made" and also gave a stunning turn as a man suffering from locked-in syndrome in a 2009 episode of "House."

We're excited to learn of the guest stars - "Dexter" is wonderful about having a couple big names for each new season. But we're still keeping a vigil that Lumen (Julia Stiles) will come back.

"Dexter" will most likely return for Season 6 at the end of September 2011.
