Internationally acclaimed designer Alexander McQueen was found dead in his London home Thursday, Feb. 11. He had apparently committed suicide.
One LA stylist -- George Blodwell -- told The Dish Rag that McQueen's mother's recent death was a major factor in his suicide.
But McQueen also lost another important female in his life. A stylist named Isabella Blow, credited with discovering McQueen, and being his advocate and friend in the early years of his career, killed herself in 2007 by drinking weed killer.
Fashion history has McQueen signing a lucrative deal with Gucci in 2000, a deal which was reportedly initiated by Blow.
