DirecTV's 'Kingdom' first look: Nick Jonas and Matt Lauria sizzle as MMA fighters
In DirecTV's new drama series "Kingdom" family is everything. In the newly released first look at the fall show, viewers get a taste of just what the personal side of the MMA (mixed martial arts) fighting world is all about.
The drama stars Frank Grillo ( "Prison Break") as Venice gym owner and MMA legend, Alvey Kulina, Nick Jonas plays Alvey's prize-winning younger son and Matt Lauria ( "Friday Night Lights") portrays star fighter Ryan Wheeler, who is struggling to re-enter the world after a prison stint. Rounding out the cast are Joanna Going, playing Alvey's ex-wife and Kiele Sanchez ( "The Glades"), who plays the gym owner's current main squeeze.
Check out the first look of "Kingdom" above, where you'll find lots of drama, fists flying and a few -- but not nearly enough -- shirtless scenes featuring Jones and Lauria.
"Kingdom" premieres on DirecTV's audience network Wednesday, October 8 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
