Discovery Channel already showed Nik Wallenda successfully walk on a two-inch cable across Arizona Gorge live, and now the network is looking to up its game. The next live event to take place on Discovery is "Everest Jump Live," which will show Joby Ogwyn climb and then jump from Mount Everest in May.

Zap2it can exclusively announce the airdate for Ogwyn's record-setting jump: Sunday, May 11. Beginning at 9 p.m. ET/6 PT (weather permitting), the expected two-hour event will show Ogwyn's climb up to the summit of Everest and then his jump off the mountain wearing a wingsuit equipped with cameras to give a bird's-eye view. Watch a promo for the special above.

Leading up to the showing of the jump, Discovery will be airing "Everest: Live From Basecamp" beginning May 5 at 11 p.m. ET/PT. "Live From Basecamp" will be hosted by NBC News' Willie Geist, who will be joined by The Weather Channel's Jim Cantore, NBC Sports' Kyle Martino and Discovery's Chris Jacobs for commentary. All five "Basecamp" shows will be simulcast on Science Channel and Discovery in Spanish.
