Disney to make 'Snow White' adaptation (because there aren't enough already)
Disney is hopping on the "Snow White" bandwagon. Or, well, hopping back on, announcing they have found a director for their director for "Order of the Seven." Commercial director and special effects artist Michael Gacey will helm the production from "Toy Story 3" screenwriter Michael Arndt.
This comes as the third "Snow White" adaptation currently in production, alongside Relativity's yet-to-be-titled version starring Lily Collins as Snow White and Universal's "Snow White and the Huntsman" starring Kristen Stewart.
However, Disney's version is not merely a live action adaptation of their 1937 animated classic, but rather will focus on her seven companions. This time around they wont be jovial little dwarfs, but a band of warriors from all over the world belonging to a centuries-old order who have lost their way. Each warrior brings an individual fighting style as they work to protect a young English woman from an ancient evil.
Filming is set to start early next year.
Sounds like an interesting take, but are you already over the "Snow White" craze?
