DJ Mr. Cee quits Hot 97 amid Bimbo Winehouse prostitution scandal
Hot 97's general manager Alexandra Cameron says in a statement, "Due to some personal circumstances that have become public, after 20 years of service, Mr. Cee has chosen to resign. We feel that this is in the best interest of both Hot 97 and Cee's personal well being. While we do not endorse the alleged activities, he is clearly facing a personal dilemma that is for him and only him to comment on."
Mr. Cee tweets of the incident, "I let everyone down I have issues please don't give up on me. I need help, just can't deal right now. Maybe better off dead ... I announced my resignation today from the job I loved to do at Hot 97 , please understand i never intended to let NY/NJ/CT all my fans down ... Thanks for all the support everyone i will ride out wit y'all today @ 12Noon Hot 97 wants me to get off Twitter so once again love u guys."
Several Twitter followers, including Spinderella, have offered their support, saying that the soliciting prostitutes issue has nothing to do with job performance.
Spinderella writes, "A mans sexual pref has absolutely nothing to do with his job performance.. Keep in mind @Real_MisterCee is a good dj and always has been!"
The New York Daily News reports this is Lebrun's fourth sex scandal in three years, saying that four months ago, he was caught soliciting an undercover cop posing as a male prostitute.
