DMX arrested in South Carolina, treated by paramedics at scene for asthma

dmx-arrested-south-carolina.jpgRapper DMX (real name Earl Simmons) was arrested in South Carolina Tuesday night (Aug. 20) when he was pulled over for an illegal U-turn and the cops allegedly found marijuana in the car.

Cops also say that DMX had an outstanding arrest warrant from a previous driving without a license charge and they took him to jail, which did not sit well with the rapper. He began yelling that this was no traffic stop and what he did was legal. A female friend of DMX's recorded the whole thing, TMZ has the video.

The outstanding arrest warrant stems from a Feb. 12 incident where the rapper was arrested. At that time, the AP was reporting he faced multiple charges of driving without a license.

DMX is scheduled to go in front of a judge Wednesday morning and is expected to be sentenced to 15 days in jail.

During the arrest, DMX also reportedly suffered an asthma attack and paramedics were called to the scene to treat him. But the rapper is fine now.

The rapper's last album, "Undisputed," came out nearly a year ago and peaked at no. 2 on the US R&B charts. DMX also reportedly has a small part in the upcoming "Expendables 3."
