'Doctor Who' 50th anniversary celebration begins at London Heathrow Airport
The Doctor might not need to fly his TARDIS through London Heathrow, but visitors to the British airport will soon be seeing the famous "Doctor Who" time travel device parked there.
As part of the 50th anniversary of "Doctor Who," BBC Worldwide partnered with Heathrow in celebration of the beloved sci-fi series. Starting on July 16, a "variety of exciting 'Doctor Who'-themed experiences" will take place in Terminal 5. That includes but is not limited to TARDIS photobooths, Cybermen appearances, "augmented reality experiences" and props and memorabilia, Deadline reports. The London Philharmonic Orchestra will also have special performances playing music from "Doctor Who" at Heathrow.
BBC has been rolling out all sorts of awesome things to celebrate the 50th anniversary of "Doctor Who." Easily the most exciting event is the special 50th anniversary episode that is slated to feature an array of cameo appearances. This year is also Matt Smith's last, which will make the celebrating bittersweet.
