Something terrible has happened in the U.K. and only the Doctor can help. Daleks have invaded Buckingham Palace and seem to be in control. Alright, so Buckingham Palace is actually safe and sound. What really happened was "Doctor Who" got a special reception at The Queen's house to celebrate the show's 50th anniversary.

The event, organized by the Countess of Wessex, was attended by Matt Smith, Jenna Coleman, John Hurt, Catherine Tate, showrunner Steven Moffat and classic Doctors Tom Baker and Peter Davison, according to the Radio Times. The TARDIS also made a special appearance, parked outside of the palace. Thankfully, photos have popped up on Instagram.

The "Doctor Who" 50th anniversary special, "The Day of the Doctor," airs November 23 on BBC America.
