The first, tiniest peek at the "Doctor Who" 50th anniversary special has arrived and it likely won't scratch that itch one bit, but at least it's something.
The shorts clips aired on the BBC One in the UK Saturday (September 28) and mostly just seem to introduce the official hashtag for the special, "#SAVETHEDAY." In the first, Matt Smith speaks the name of the episode, "The Day of the Doctor," while the second has that familiar TARDIS sound, along with the episode's air date, November 23.
The 50th anniversary special will see the return of David Tennant (10th Doctor) and Billie Piper (Rose Tyler), as they team up with Smith and Jenna-Louise Coleman (Clara Oswald). It's still unclear how their paths cross, but they will do battle with John Hurt, who plays a dark Doctor.
After the episode, the countdown begins until Smith says goodbye to "Doctor Who," as his Doctor will regenerate in the annual Christmas special.
