Update: BBC America will announce 3D screening dates in the United States and Canada over the next week.
The first wave of theaters have been announced for the 3D screenings of the "Doctor Who" 50th anniversary special, "The Day of the Doctor." Unfortunately for U.S. residents, there's nowhere in North America to see the special 75-minute episode just yet.
It's not time to start panicking just though, as the BBC says more screens will be added in the coming weeks, as "The Day of the Doctor" gets closer. Thus far the screenings seem clustered in the U.K., Germany, Australia and New Zealand.
"The Day of the Doctor" sees the return of David Tennant and Billie Piper, reprising their roles of the 10th Doctor and his companion, Rose Tyler. They will join Matt Smith's 11th Doctor, as well as John Hurt, who plays the dark Doctor. The "Doctor Who" 50th anniversary special airs around the world on November 23.
