Steven Moffat may be tempted to bring Alex Kingston back into the "Doctor Who" world in Season 8, but there's at least one person who doesn't want that to happen.

During an appearance at Wizard World New Orleans, former Doctor Matt Smith revealed he isn't in favor of River Song returning to the show with new Doctor Peter Capaldi, according to Doctor Who TV. In fact, he did the one thing fans can't: He called Moffat.

"I'm really possessive over Alex [Kingston]," he says. "I said this to Steven. I was like, 'Listen, just don't! Just not Alex. Anyone else, but don't give [Capaldi] River.'"

Still, Smith realizes his words only go so far, concluding, "Peter is the Doctor now so hey, what can I do?"

With River being to closely linked to the eighth Doctor, you can't really blame him for wanting the character to end there. Time will tell if Moffat actually listened to him, though. Fingers crossed.
