'Doctor Who' Season 6 premieres April 23 on BBC America
So it shouldn't be much of a surprise, after the same-day airing of the 2010 "Doctor Who" Christmas special in both the U.S. and the U.K., BBC America will premiere Season 6 of the series on the same day as Brits as well.
As EW first reported, new "Who" will be on the tube Saturday, April 23, at 9 p.m ET. And the season kicks off with the highly anticipated two-parter in 1960s Utah, the first the series has ever filmed on U.S. soil.
This means that fans can count on not just the Doctor ( Matt Smith), Amy ( Karen Gillan) and Rory ( Arthur Darvill) in the premiere, we'll also get the return of the increasingly present River Song ( Alex Kingston).
