Former "Doctor Who" star Karen Gillan has lined up her next TV gig, and it's in the United States. The "Guardians of the Galaxy" acress has signed on to star in an ABC pilot called "Selfie."

The comedy from "Suburgatory" creator Emily Kapnek is inspired by "My Fair Lady" and features Gillan as Eliza Dooley, EW reports. Her character is more interested in being well-liked on the Internet than in real life and in the pilot, an embarrassing video of Dooley's breakup goes viral and she calls on a marketing expert to help restore her good name online.

Comedy is nothing new to Gillan. She often played a comedic role on "Doctor Who" and has an episode of "NTSF:SD;SUV::" under her belt as well.
