Fans waiting for Matt Smith to appear on "Sherlock" can finally give up the fight. The "Doctor Who" star definitively says that it's not going to be happening.
During a Wizard World Comic Con appearance, Smith answered a fan who asked if he would pop up on the show. "Listen, there's no room for me on 'Sherlock'," he says according to the Mirror. "They've got Benedict [Cumberbatch] and Martin [Freeman], that's quite enough peculiar Englishmen for that show. There's no room for another."
He threw the comment out there jokingly, but it definitely sounds like Smith has no intentions of heading to the show. This, coupled with Cumberbatch saying that a "Doctor Who" appearance is out of the question, should put the matter of a crossover to rest once and for all.
It won't though, because the fans have decided what they want and will talk about it until the end of time. After all, Smith isn't the only Doctor who can take part in a "Doctor Who"/"Sherlock" crossover.
