'Downton Abbey's' Super Bowl 2013 ratings up over last year
The British period drama beat all other networks other than CBS. The 6.6 million viewers was an increase of 65 percent over last year's "Downton Abbey" opposite the Super bowl, which earned only 4 million viewers.
"Downton" as a whole is up quite a bit over its second season. Its third season premiere earned 7.9 million viewers, which is a PBS ratings record, and is an increase of 96% over the Season 2 premiere, which earned just over 4 million viewers. It is the top-rated PBS drama of all time.
"Downton Abbey" airs Sunday nights at 9 p.m. ET/PT on PBS.
