Lifetime has been teasing the heart-stopping musical number in the Season 3 premiere of "Drop Dead Diva," and now it's almost upon us. It premieres Sunday, June 19 at 9 p.m. ET.
Zap2it was on the show's set in Peachtree City, Ga. and we had a chance to speak with the cast about the opening number, which was choreographed by "So You Think You Can Dance's" Keith "Tyce" Diorio.
"The whole cast is in that," Brooke Elliott, who plays Jane, tells Zap2it. "And they all play their different parts in my dream."
As we spoke to the cast, we got a good idea of the roles each played in the musical number set in and in front of a hospital.
Ben Feldman (Fred) tells us that he takes a ride in the number and has a relative few choreographed moves compared to the other cast members. April Bowlby (who play's Fred's onscreen crush, Stacy) tells us she has a background in ballet that didn't quite translate well to Diorio's choreography.
It was Kate Levering (Kim) who the cast says really shined in the number, but she tells us she had a leg up (literally and figuratively as you'll see in the video below) over the rest of the cast.
"Not many people who watch our show know that I was a professional dancer for eight years on Broadway," Levering tells us. "So, I happen to love the fact that we sometimes incorporate dance and get incredible choreographers like Tyce Diorio and get incredible dancers like Paula Abdul to come and dance with us. It's like my favorite part, because that is so much of who I am."
