'Duck Dynasty' Season 4 premiere sets another ratings record
The Season 4 premiere of the runaway hit scored a massive 11.8 million viewers for A&E Wednesday night (Aug. 14). More than half of those people -- 6.3 million -- were part of the adults 18-49 demographic (the show also scored 6.3 million viewers among people ages 25-54).
The 11.8 million viewers makes the "Duck Dynasty" premiere the No. 1 nonfiction series telecast in the history of cable TV. It was also far and away the most-watched show on TV Wednesday night.
The "Duck Dynasty" premiere also drew more viewers than the most recent season premieres of "Survivor," "The Amazing Race," "Big Brother" and "The Bachelor."
Here's maybe the most remarkable stat about the show, though: The series premiered in March 2012 to an audience of 1.8 million people. Less than a year and a half later, it drew more than six times that many viewers.
