'Dumb and Dumber To' to begin filming in September, says Jeff Daniels
Though initial reports said that "Dumb and Dumber To" would begin filming later in the summer, Jeff Daniels recently offered up a status update on the movie's production. During an interview on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon," he claimed that the "Dumb and Dumber" sequel will actually begin shooting in September.
"It'll be the 20th anniversary of the first one next year when it's released," he says. "I've seen the script. It's hysterical. We're middle-aged. We're not pretending we aren't. We're middle-aged and we're still that stupid."
During a recent interview with Zap2it, Daniels admitted that he might have to put some extra effort into making sure his "Dumb and Dumber" persona doesn't slip into "The Newsroom," and vice versa.
"It's the perfect time to do it. Imagine the mental gymnastics I'm going to have to perform to pull that off, to go from Will to Harry, then back to Will if there's a Season 3. It's an actor's dream," he says. "I hope two things. I hope that when people see 'The Newsroom' and 'Dumb and Dumber To," they don't see Will in Harry or Harry in Will. Second, I'm terrified that I'll get into 'The Newsroom' and Harry will suddenly appear in the middle of a newscast."
"The Newsroom" Season 2 premieres on HBO on July 14.
